Canal Versatility

canal rolloutCANAL continues to prove its versatility in a range of recent projects.

At the Springridge project in Wallan 5,500sqm of CANAL 8208 was used to line a stormwater retarding basin. Designed by CPG and installed by Newnham Earthmoving, CANAL was the ideal lining system providing a tough, puncture resistant watertight liner.

Project Manager David Mitchell commented that CANAL was easy to place and seam, using a simple hot-melt glue. Once placed the CANAL was covered with earth.

CANAL comprises a 0.5mm PE liner sandwiched between two protective 265gsm non-woven geotextiles, forming a super-tough geocomposite liner. The wide 7.6m rolls allow rapid coverage of broad areas.

At a second project Tweed Shire chose CANAL 8208 for lining a stormwater retarding basin near Murwillumbah.

CANAL was used to treat a leaky earthern embankment.

The simple glued seams allowed works crews in both projects to install CANAL without the need for specialist welders.
